Victron Cerbo GX / Venus OS On a 7 Inch Raspberry Pi!

Victron Cerbo GX / Venus OS On a 7 Inch Raspberry Pi!

Victron Energy make truly great products for vans and RV’s, or anything you want to connect a battery to. I personally have Victron Products that I will be using for my box truck build.

Thankfully Victron makes their software open source. Which means, it can be modified. KWINDREM has made GuiMods. Which adds extra widgets to the Venus OS. Also, you can run Venus OS and GuiMods on a Raspberry Pi. We will go into the overview of that right now.

Supplies needed for a Raspberry Pi 7″ touchscreen DIY Cerbo GX w/ display.

1. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ Board. Right now prices are very high on these. I suggest either waiting on them to drop back to regular prices, find one on eBay, or check for availability on RPilocator.com.
2. Pi Foundation 7 Inch Touchscreen Display.
3. Raspberry Pi 7 Inch Touchscreen Display Case – For mounting it to a wall. Other cases are available to suit your needs.

Here is a great video explaining how to install the software and get everything going. I will be making my own video soon, until then, this video is the video I used when I first installed the Venus OS software.
